Coach Terrell Washington training athletes

Founder. Coach. Mentor.

After retiring from professional football, Terrell Washington transitioned into coaching, starting with four years at Ritenour High School. He later explored entrepreneurship before settling in Wylie, Texas, in 2014. His commitment to the local athletic community as a volunteer coach led to the launch of Grind House Sports Training in 2018.

Since then, Coach T and his team have trained athletes from schools including Wylie East, Wylie High, Allen, Lovejoy, Sachse, Plano East, and Rockwall. From 2nd grade through the collegiate level, athletes return year after year — often during school breaks — to stay sharp and continue their development.

With 18 years of coaching experience, Coach T specializes in speed, agility, power, footwork, and lateral movement across multiple sports: football, baseball, basketball, soccer, track, volleyball, and more. His training adapts to each athlete’s sport and developmental stage.

Coach T’s philosophy is simple: he gives 100% to every session and expects the same from his athletes. His mentorship builds confidence, resilience, and habits that translate far beyond the field.

Drawing from his own collegiate and professional recruitment experience, he also guides athletes through the recruiting process — helping them understand what it takes to be truly recruitable.

Built on experience, driven by standards.

Coach T’s training philosophy comes from his own path through collegiate and professional athletics. After excelling in UIL football, he played at Hutchinson Community College before earning a spot at the University of Illinois as a Division 1 Big Ten defender.

In 2001, the Fighting Illini won the Big Ten Championship and competed in the Sugar Bowl, finishing the season ranked No. 12 nationally. The discipline, accountability, and consistency required at that level now define the Grind House training culture.

Coach T brings those same standards to every session: focused reps, measurable progress, and full commitment. His goal goes beyond performance — he prepares athletes for the demands of higher‑level competition and life beyond sports.
